Seal any areas where wires come into the home, which will decrease the risk of water damage in heavy wind and rain.
Take inventory of your belongings
Many people neglect to keep an inventory of their belongings. A well-organized list will make any claim process smoother and ensure that all the items that you own are accounted for and covered by your insurance. Keep a copy of your list online so it is not lost in any flooding.
